W-WB Pinot Noir
Wine
Stonier W-WB Pinot Noir is from the Windmill Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula. Facing north, sheltered from Bass Strait's cool winds, it is a warm site in a cool area.
'WB' stands for 'whole bunch'. The fruit is handpicked and placed directly into open fermenters, which are then sealed. The ferment takes place slowly within the bunches themselves.
After around four weeks with occasional pigeage (foot stomping), the wine is pressed to new and seasoned French oak puncheons to age. Select barrels are chosen for the final blend.
Deep red purple, Stonier W-WB Pinot Noir has layered fruit flavours and spice with formidable tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
